£90K-A-WEEK PLAYER WON’T JOIN ARSENAL AFTER LAST NIGHT SAYS O’HARA.

Are Arsenal signing Gabriel Jesus?

Well that was the speculation, with Arsenal reportedly in advanced talks to sign the Manchester City marksman.

But after their 3-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur last night, Jamie O’Hara has intimated on Twitter that it could be the beginning of the end of the rumours.

The Gunners’ Champions League qualification bid suffered a dent by losing emphatically to Tottenham.

Victory would’ve guaranteed Arsenal passage back into Europe’s elite competition, but now Spurs are one point behind them with two Premier League games to play.

And O’Hara has suggested on social media that the Brazilian striker – who earns £90,000 per week – isn’t going to be interested in signing for the North Londoners if they’re in the Europa League.

ARE ARSENAL SIGNING GABRIEL JESUS?

O’Hara certainly raises a good point.

The 25-year-old Manchester City hitman is a very big player, one who scored four Premier League goals in a game only last month.

This is someone with a major profile and he might genuinely have second thoughts if Arsenal aren’t in the Champions League.

Europa League football certainly seems like a step down for someone who played the final of the Champions League 12 months ago.

Finishing in the top four is still in the Gunners’ hands but on the back of last night, confidence ahead of Monday’s trip to Newcastle is surely very low and it’s Mikel Arteta’s job to raise morale in record time.

Failure to do so could, as O’Hara suggested, result in transfers collapsing.
