Robert Lewandowski has put top European clubs on red alert after he announced that his career with Bayern Munich is over.

The Polish attacker has widely been linked with a summer departure from the Bundesliga club, with Barcelona and Chelsea believed to be the leading contenders for his signature.

Daily Mail reports the 33-year-old has now given his clearest indication on his future with Bayern, suggesting he has no intention to continue with the club.

Speaking while on international duty with Poland, Lewandowski revealed he has made his decision to quit as he exuded hope that Bayern will not stop him from leaving.

Lewandoski has had an illustrious career with Bayern since joining them eight years ago from Borussia Dortmund.

The Poland international is widely regarded as a club icon at Allianz Arena, thanks to his goalscoring prowess that has seen him net 344 goals in 374 appearances.
