Fabrizio Romano Provides Update On Liverpool And Aston Villa Target Alberto Moleiro

Alberto Moleiro looks set to become the next big thing to come out of the Canary Islands. Having given both Pedro Rodriguez and Pedri Gonzalez to Barcelona, Yeremy Pino has also come off the production line recently. Now Moleiro is attracting serious attention for his performances in Segunda with Las Palmas.

With 8 assists in 29 games, Moleiro has been instrumental in placing Las Palmas top of the table, and sits second in the assist charts.

The 19-year-old was heavily linked with Barcelona last summer, but the budgetary constraints got in the way of a deal. More recently it was reported that Liverpool and Aston Villa were leading the way for his signature.

Speaking to Caught Offside in his Daily Column, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed he is being watched, but no more than that at the time of writing.

“Very, very talented player. I’m told nothing is serious at this stage but we have rumours because La Liga, Premier League and Serie A clubs have sent their scouts to follow Moleiro recently. But it’s too early to update on his future.”

His release clause is currently set at €25m which most sides will consider paying at this point. Yet if Las Palmas were to win promotion to La Liga, that clause would rise to €50m. It provides clubs with an incentive to move quickly, but seemingly nobody is willing to take the plunge yet, although Las Palmas could yet drop out of the promotion places.
