Inter Milan Interested In Barcelona Midfielder, Player Does Not Want To Leave

Franck Kessie has been one of the rising stars for Barcelona this year. From playing a sporadic role in the first team, the midfielder has gone on to become an essential part of Xavi’s setup.

Kessie’s contributions have helped Barcelona secure a formidable lead at the top of the league. They have also beaten their arch-rivals Real Madrid thrice in all competitions.

The Ivorian’s performances have not gone unnoticed, though, with a report from Diario SPORT (h/t Barça Universal) suggesting that the midfielder is still a target for Inter Milan ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Kessie was linked with a move to Inter Milan during the January transfer window. But the player was not too keen on leaving Barcelona just yet. The club itself did not sanction the sale – a decision that turned out to be fruitful for both parties.

But as we head into the final phase of the campaign, Inter Milan are once again harbouring the hope of signing Kessie. But it appears Barça have changed their stance significantly on the player and is not expected to sanction the player’s sale anytime soon.

The report suggests Kessie will remain at Camp Nou beyond the summer transfer window, having established himself as a critical part of the first team.

Kessie’s importance to the team will be evident when Barcelona take on Real Madrid in the semifinal of Copa Del Rey, as both Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are suffering from injuries.

Although De Jong is in contention to feature in the game, he is far from fully fit, meaning the onus will be on Kessie to offer balance in the middle of the park, alongside Sergio Busquets. Their collective performance will go a long way in shaping the result of this tie.
