JARRELL MILLER COMES BACK FROM PED BAN, AT ‘KO DRUGS’ EVENT THIS WEEK.

World Boxing Association chiefs confirmed their KO Drugs Boxing Festival this week but left off the addition of one Jarrell Miller.

For the 38th time, the WBA will host an event over a few days to prove its commitment to tackling drugs in the community.

How ironic that Miller should feature for the first time in three and a half years after being suspended twice after flagging for performance enhancing drugs.

Miller will battle Argentine also-ran Ariel Esteban Bracamonte over ten rounds in his first bout since November 2018. However, when announcing the line-up, the WBA left the controversial New Yorker’s name out of the equation.

“The XXXVIII edition of the World Boxing Association (WBA) KO a las Drogas Boxing Festival will take place in Argentina this week. Several activities and two boxing events will be held on Thursday and Friday at the Casino Buenos Aires.

“Several regional championships and a world title fight will occur during the week’s events.

“On Thursday, there will be a fight between the Argentine Mirco Cuello and the Venezuelan Leonardo Padilla for the international featherweight belt. Also, the fight between the Venezuelan Roiman Villa and the Argentine Joel Mafauad for the super lightweight intercontinental belt.

“On Friday, the super flyweight world championship will be disputed between Mexican champion Maribel Ramirez and Argentinean challenger Clara Lescurat.

“There will also be a vital clash for the Americas Continental light heavyweight title. Argentinean Brian Suarez will face Venezuelan Albert Ramirez.

“Additionally, the president of the pioneer organization, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, will visit the Buenos Aires campus of the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE). He will be the speaker at the talk “Strengths and Challenges of Boxing” on Tuesday.

“There will also be different seminars and activities during the course of the week. The objective is to provide training and impart learning in the midst of this great festival.

“The WBA is excited and proud to return to Argentina with this event. To contribute to the development of boxing in such an important country.”

Jarrell Miller
“Big Baby” missed out on challenging Anthony Joshua for the world heavyweight title at Madison Square Garden when testing positive. Andy Ruiz Jr. took his place at late notice and stopped Joshua in the mid-rounds.

Many believe Miller would have done the same had he not made the mistakes he did in the build-up.

Miller vs. Bracamonte will take place on Thursday.
