JOMO COSMOS WITHDRAWS CASE AGAINST HUNGRY LIONS AS EVIDENCE PROVES THEY FALSIFIED PLAYER’S DOCUMENTS

Jomos Cosmos will compete next season in the ABC Motsepe League after they withdrew a case against Hungry Lions.

Hungry Lions will remain in the GladAfrica Championship but the future remains in doubt for Jomo Cosmos.

Cosmos withdrew their case against Hungry Lions that was scheduled for today, meaning that Lions will no longer face the threat of being relegated.

For Cosmos though, they could be facing a possible lifetime ban from football if Lions’ lawyer Karabo Tshabuse gets her way.

Cosmos originally laid a complaint with the Premier Soccer League over Lions’ use of midfielder Tshepo Mohlala. Cosmos claimed that Mohlala, who was a former Ezenkosi player, was never released by the side and therefore ineligible to play for another side.

Lions were charged, as was the player, and both were due to appear before the Disciplinary Committee today.

The case did not go ahead though as Cosmos withdrew the case, admitting that they falsified the documents, SABC Sport reported.

Tshabuse stated that her side had presented evidence that Mohlala was never registered for Jomo Cosmos during the time he played for Lions and they had the cards and records to show that he was a Kaizer Chiefs development player.

“We also have evidence that shows that Jomo Cosmos have fabricated the supposed playing cards that they used, in an attempt to prove the allegations – from a picture on Facebook, which was taken last year, when he (Mohlala) was 21 years old.”

As reported by IOL, Tshabuse isn’t stopping now that Lions have been cleared of the charges she also wants action taken against Cosmos for their “unethical conduct”.
