Lisandro Martinez Collects Team Of The Year Accolade At Laureus Sports Awards

Argentina has been named World Team of the Year at the 2023 Laureus Sports Awards ceremony in Paris.

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was in attendance to collect the award, along with Lionel Messi, but pictures show that he is no longer wearing a protective boot after picking up an injury playing for the Reds.

Martinez was part of the Argentina side that won the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022. It was the third time they were crowned world champions.

Meanwhile, Martinez’s team-mate at United, Christian Eriksen, picked up an award for Comeback of the Year.

Martinez is currently out injured and will miss the rest of the season. He has been a terrific signing for United since arriving from Ajax last summer.
