Man United Potential Takeover Will Not Put Talks For New Marcus Rashford Deal On Hold

The uncertainty surrounding Manchester United’s ownership will not be a barrier to Marcus Rashford’s contract extension talks, reports The Athletic.

The current deal of the England international forward ends in 2024. Man United have been put on the market by the Glazers since last November, and three bids have already been tabled.

Most clubs facing a potential change in ownership put new contract discussions on hold. However, the Red Devils have no plans to halt talks with Rashford and his representatives.

Initial talks over a new long-term deal for the 25-year-old have already taken place.

They are expected to continue, and manager Erik ten Hag has claimed a new contract for Rashford is a priority.

The Red Devils star took his goal tally across all competitions this term to 27 with a brace against Leicester City yesterday.

The Man United ace has scored more goals (16) than any player in Europe’s major leagues since the World Cup ended.

Rashford’s red-hot form has seen Ten Hag’s side move within five points of league leaders Arsenal. Although, they have played one game more than the Gunners.

Only three points separate them from second-placed Manchester City after 24 games.

Not many people are predicting they could challenge for the title. However, it must not be ruled out if Rashford maintains his goalscoring form.

He is without a doubt the best player in the Premier League right now. Man United simply cannot afford to lose him anytime soon.
