MAN UNITEF ‘CLOSE TO EXTENT AGREEMENT’ WITH BARCA FOR FRENKIE DE JONG FEE -REVEALED.

Man United are closing in on reaching an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Frenkie de Jong, claims Spanish outlet Sport.

This is despite not having agreed personal terms with the Dutch international himself yet.

The Red Devils are negotiating a fee of around €80m (£68m) to bring the Dutch midfielder to Old Trafford.

United are ready to pay De Jong a higher salary than he gets at Barca currently, which is reportedly around £280,000-a-week.

Ten Hag holds the midfielder as an absolute priority signing in the summer and United believe there will be no problems in sorting out an agreement in the next few days.

They will have to convince Frenkie himself, as he wants to play in the Champions League but is beginning to understand about having to leave as Barca are actively trying to sell him.

United have set a deadline of mid-June until which they can wait for De Jong to agree on a transfer or move on to other targets.
