MANCHESTER CITY BENJAMIN MENDY MAKES PLEA OVER 9 COUNT CHARGE AS HE RETUNS BACK TO COURT

The suspended Manchester City star was accused of molesting several women at his apartment between October 2018 and August last year

France and Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy has pleaded “not guilty” as nine charges were pleaded to him at the Chester Crown Court.

It was gathered that the player’s trial will commence in July as the left-back entered a not guilty plea at Chester Crown Court to nine charges of offences against six women.

Mirror reports that the 27-year-old responded with “not guilty” as the charges were read to him for the very first time.

It was alleged that all the offences occurred at his house between October 2018 and August 2021, but none of the complainants can be identified by law. It was a private hearing as the press was not allowed into the facility as the player pleaded not guilty.

Mendy’s trial will commence on July 25 along with his co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 40, who is accused of 10 offences, involving seven women, including seven counts of rape relating to five women and three of sexual assault. The France international has been suspended by his club man City pending the outcome of the case in court.

Greenwood spotted in public for the first time after an accusation

Meanwhile, Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been keeping the lowest profile possible since he was released from custody on bail.

The 20-year-old who has not been allowed to return to training with the club was spotted driving around in Manchester on Thursday.

Greenwood was wearing a Cartier balaclava in a failed attempt to avoid attention as he was reportedly driving a friend around Cheshire.
