MARITZBURG UNITED PART WAYS WITH GERMAN COACH ERNST MIDDENDORP

Ernst Middendorp helped Maritzburg United survived the drop in the DStv Premiership this season.

Ernst Middendorp has became the latest victim of Premier Soccer League clubs parting ways with their coaches this year.

AmaZulu FC, Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United, Baroka FC, Sekhukhune United and Golden Arrows all parted ways with the coaches this year and now Maritzburg United have followed the trend.

Orlando Pirates took a similar route when they let co-coach Fadlu Davids go.

Maritzburg United though parted ways with German manager Ernst Middendorp via mutual consent, iDiskiTimes reported.

The publication got confirmation from Middendorp himself.

The decision will come as a surprise to many as Middendorp helped the KwaZulu-Natal based side club survive the drop this past season. The club also parted ways with eight players last week and many believed that it was the start of a rebuild of the squad under Middendorp.

As Soccerzela noted, the announcement also marks the end of Middendorp’s fourth spell as manager of the side.
