Report: Vitor Roque Father To Meet Barcelona Officials To Discuss Summer Transfer

Athletico Paranaense striker Vitor Roque has emerged as one of Barcelona’s priority targets for the summer transfer window.

Just 17 years of age, the centre-forward has been making waves with his performances for Athletico Paranaense, while he has also been brilliant for the Brazil U-20 side at the South American U-20 Championship in Colombia.

Having missed out on Endrick to Real Madrid, Barcelona have made it a mission to sign Vitor Roque in the summer. Initial contacts have already been made with Athletico Paranaense to explore the possibility of a move.

Now, Marcos Benito of El Chiringuito is reporting that Vitor Roque’s father is set to meet with Barcelona officials next week to discuss the possibility of a summer transfer and the role that the club has in mind for the talented teenage striker.

Previous reports have suggested that the Brazilian prodigy himself, along with his agent and family, want to sign for Barcelona. And the impending meeting between the club and his father further points towards a possible move.

Given Roque’s exploits, several other clubs like PSG, Chelsea, and West Ham United have also shown an interest in acquiring his services.

But, there is growing confidence within the Barça offices that the 17-year-old striker will arrive at Camp Nou in the summer.

Athletico Paranaense are likely to demand €30 million for Roque with another €5 million in variables. It has been suggested that the Brazilian outfit would accept payments in instalments, which would make things easier for Barcelona.

The upcoming meeting between the player’s father and the club officials will be key as the Blaugrana will outline their plans for Roque and look to further convince that a transfer to Camp Nou is the best option for him.
