Reports: Barcelona Met With Influential Agent To Discuss Two Transfer Targets

Earlier today, Barcelona officials Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff held a meeting with influential football agent Pini Zahavi and his right-hand man Humberto Pavia, reports Gerard Romero.

Zahavi, who is the representative of Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski, also happens to be the agent of two of the Catalans’ summer transfer targets in Yannick Carrasco and Benjamin Pavard.

And their names are believed to have been discussed during the meeting, DEPREDICT claims.

Barça were interested in signing Carrasco during the winter window itself, with Zahavi admitting as much in an interview. However, Atletico Madrid were unwilling to lose their winger, leading to the move not going through.

But the Blaugrana secured a future purchase clause worth around €20 million for the Belgian international which they can activate to sign him in the summer.

Reports have claimed that Xavi Hernandez & co. plan on signing Carrasco, although Romero claims that nothing is closed at this point.

Meanwhile, Pavard is another player that is on the agenda at Camp Nou. The Frenchman is entering the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich this summer and is likely to be on his way out, putting Barcelona on alert.

The right-back position has been a problematic position for the La Liga leaders and Pavard is seen as one of the targets to address the issue in the summer.

While the summer window is still some way away, it is good to see that Alemany and Cruyff are already starting to put together the pieces to improve the squad before the next season kicks off.

Despite the meeting with Zahavi, Romero clarifies that nothing is closed at this stage with regard to Pavard or Carrasco.
