Roma Confident Of Winning Race For Liverpool And Tottenham Target

AS Roma are confident of signing Evan Ndicka on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt, sources have told DEPREDICT.

The left-footed centre-back has been monitored by several of Europe’s top sides this season with his contract up in the summer and many sides in the transfer market for such a profile of defender.

DEPREDICT has previously reported that Liverpool and Manchester City have watched Ndicka, while he has also been of particular interest to Tottenham.

Barcelona showed a willingness to sign him on a free transfer earlier this year but have since backed away from a deal.

DEPREDICT understands that Ndicka could be on his way to Italy, with Europa League semi-finalists Roma confident of wrapping a deal up in the near future. They do not currently have a left-sided centre-back in their senior squad.

The Giallorossi are unlikely to secure a Champions League spot via their Serie A finish – they sit six points outside the top four with three games to play – but will fancy their chances of winning the Europa League.

Jose Mourinho’s side lead Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 heading into Thursday’s second leg. Roma have not lost a European knockout tie under his management. Meanwhile, Italian rivals Juventus head to Sevilla for the second leg of their own semi-final with the scores level at 1-1.
