Romeo Langford was born to his father, Tim Langford, and his mother, Sabrina Langford, on October 25, 1999, in New Albany, Indiana, United States.

He grew up with his two sisters, Tiffany, Tisha, and his friend Rondale Moore, a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals on the same block in New Albany.

Romeo was already a star player as a kid and received offers from numerous prep schools, but despite this, he chose New Albany High School.

He averaged 17.1 points in his freshmen year, 30.2 in his sophomore year, and 28.7 in his junior year.

His performance did not go unnoticed, as he was announced as a McDonald’s All-American to participate in the 2018 game on January 16, 2018.

Coming out of high school, he was rated as a five-star recruit by Scouts, ESPN, and Rivals and received an athletic scholarship from Vanderbilt, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, UCLA, Duke, and several others.

As expected, Romeo was drafted 14th overall in the first round by the Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft.

In July same year, he signed a four-year rookie contract with the team. Shortly after that, he was assigned to the Maine Red Claws for the start of the NBA G League season.

However, after he rolled his ankle Celtics announced that Romeo would miss the remainder 2019-20 NBA season.

He played for the Boston Celtics in the 2021 NBA Summer League.

After the 2021 season, he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs on February 10, 2022.

He was a part of the trade that also included Josh Richardson in exchange for Derrick White.

Romeo made his debut for the Spurs on March 7, 2022, against the Los Angeles Lakers.
