Mohammed Salisu has finally made a decision on his international future as he looks forward to represent the Black Stars of Ghana.

After several rejections, the Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku convinced the Southampton star to play for the Black Stars.

In a post on Facebook, Kurt Okraku revealed the player is ready to wear the Black Stars jersey ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

“Great seeing you with that big smile…Proud son of the land who is proud to give back what football has given him…Ready to serve and looking forward to our common future with all the positive energy in you.. God bless our homeland Ghana and make our Nation great and strong,” the FA President posted on his Facebook page with a photo of the player and himself”.

This means Salisu could be available for the Black Stars in the next international window, which will involved some AFCON qualifiers and friendlies.

Mohammed Salisu has been a revelation in the English Premier League this season, starring in 34 games for Southampton as they finished 15th on the table.

The towering centre-back has also been on the radar of Spanish giants Barcelona, who are looking for a replacement for out-of-favour Samuel Umtiti.
