Former Nigeria head coach Augustine Eguavoen has waxed lyrical on Roma manager Jose Mourinho following the latter’s Conference League success.

The Portuguese tactician guided AS Roma to their maiden European success last night when the Italian giants edged Feyenoord in the finals of the UEFA Conference League last night.

Mourinho’s feat made him the first manager to have won all UEFA’s club competitions – Champions League, Europa League (formerly known as UEFA Cup) and most recently Conference League.

Augustine Eguavoen was full of praise for Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese annexed the Europa Conference League.

His recent success with the Gialorrossi saw football fans across the globe hail the ex-Manchester United and Chelsea manager and former Nigeria manager Augustine Eguavoen has joined the bandwagon praising Jose.

Eguavoen, who was relieved of his duties as Nigeria coach for failing to guide his nation to the World Cup, showered Mourinho with praises.

Meanwhile Super Eagles attacker, Cyril Dessers ended up on the losing side in the final of the Europa Conference League after Dutch side, Feyenoord lost 1-0 to AS Roma on Wednesday, May 25.

The 27-year-old attacker has now expressed his disappointment after the game and revealed the loss to Jose Mourinho’s team hurts.

According to a report via Complete Sports, the Feyenoord attacker also accused the AS Roma players of being too physical in the final against the Dutch side

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that despite his failure to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to hold in Qatar later in the year, Augustine Eguavoen has stated that he is open to coaching the team again.
