TOTTENHAM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLACE SEALED AS THEY PUT 5 PAST EASY SIDE NORWICH.

Son Heung-min helped Tottenham secure UEFA Champions League football whilst simultaneously securing the golden boot by scoring a brace as ‘Spurs’ ran riot at Carrow road running out 5-0 winners.

The task was simple for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, avoid defeat against an already relegated Norwich and the final UEFA Champions League spot would be theirs. Considering, the ‘Canaries’ only home league victories this season were against clubs ranked 15th or lower going into the round, it would take a truly ‘Spursy’ performance for them to come out with anything but an away victory. Tottenham threatened from the off and took the lead inside 16 minutes, Rodrigo Bentancur had plenty of time to put the ball on a plate for Dejan Kulusevski who finished off a lovely move with a tap-in.

Bentancur was the provider once again just after the half hour mark, making the most of a Tim Krul error to find Harry Kane who made it 2-0 with a diving header. The hosts offered very little in the first half with their best chance falling to Milot Rashica who’s shot narrowly went wide, keeping the score at 2-0 at HT. To Norwich’s credit they came out an improved side in the second-half with Teemu Pukki missing a good chance. Golden boot chaser Son Heung-min should have put the game to bed on the hour mark, getting on the end of Kane’s cross but failing to beat Krul at close range.

After missing an open goal moments earlier Kulusevski grabbed his second goal of the game, cutting inside onto his dangerous left foot before beautifully curling the ball into the top corner to make it 3-0 with 25 minutes remaining. Son confirmed the victory with his 22nd Premier League goal of the season, finding the bottom corner after being teed up by substitute Lucas Moura. The South-Korean doubled his tally moments after finding space on the edge of the area before curling the ball into the bottom corner to lead the race for the golden boot.

Tottenham comfortably saw out the remainder of the game, running out 5-0 winners to confirm their position in fourth, whilst Norwich finish the season at rock bottom in 20th.
