Tottenham Hotspurs Suffer More First-Half Woes At Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur just don’t seem to have the knack of performing well for 90 minutes on a consistent basis this season.

Antonio Conte’s side regularly find themselves going into half-time breaks behind and the same fate has happened again at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Rodrigo Bentancur has given Spurs the lead in the 14th minute but two sucker punches from Leicester in three minutes changed the complexion of the game.

Nampalys Mendy hit a stunner from the edge of the box before James Maddison slotted into the bottom corner to give the hosts the lead.

Kelechi Iheanacho then slotted home in first-half stoppage time to deal another blow.

Same old, same old for Spurs, who have now conceded 18 goals in the first-half alone this season, a stat only worsened by two sides in the relegation zone, Bournemouth and Southampton.

Work to do for Conte.

It’s a good thing that they are capable of a comeback or two.
