TS Galaxy Star Msimango Is Set To Join Kaizer Chiefs; How Much Will Chiefs Spend On Him

TS Galaxy star Given Msimango is set to join Kaizer Chiefs next season in a deal that would apparently cost upwards of R4-million.

What’s become apparent recently is that Kaizer Chiefs mean business as they plot and plan some key player recruitments, with several targets said to be firmly in their sights for next season.

After a season of mixed results, it’s understandable that Chiefs have been hard at work behind the scenes to identify which players they need to bring to Naturena, particularly considering several players are linked with exits.
Recently, an article from leading SABC Sport journalist Mazola Molefe suggested that Chiefs have successfully secured the services of sought-after TS Galaxy star Given Msimango on a blockbuster four-year deal.

In the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, it’s reported that there was a possibility that the 25-year-old might have headed to America to join a MLS side, but in the end Kaizer Chiefs have apparently sealed the move to Naturena.

Last year it was reported that Msimango had been sounded out by Chiefs as they considered their player options for this season, but ultimately a move never materialised.

After that interest was shown, TS Galaxy were said to have pinned Msimango down on a long-term contract to ensure he didn’t leave on a free transfer, and it’s now suggested that Chiefs have to splash out to the tune of at least R4-million to get their man.

At a time when TS Galaxy are facing financial issues, there has been increasing talk that the club would accept the sale of their club captain, and it now appears that Chiefs have won the race for his signature at a time when Orlando Pirates were also said to be monitoring Msimango.

CHIEFS COACH ARTHUR ZWANE HINTED AT THE MSIMANGO SIGNING RECENTLY

At a media open day at Naturena last week, Zwane wasn’t giving much away when asked about this potential signing, but the fact that he also didn’t refute the story spoke volumes.

“We have identified players, we have identified players and we’ll keep on trying our level best to bring in players that we think will add value to the club,” he commented. “And yes, at the moment I’m not at liberty to divulge any information until the club makes that announcement.”

And when asked whether he’s neither confirming nor denying the recruitment, he stated “yes, sir” with a notable smile on his face.

AMAKHOSI ARE MAKING BIG MOVES AHEAD OF NEXT SEASON

Last month, SABC Sport also reported that Chiefs have snapped up the signing of midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane after agreeing transfer terms in principle, and that deal appears to be a three-year contract.

Although the last move for Mdantsane fell short after a transfer fee was unable to be agreed upon in time, it seems that progress has now been made to ensure a deal can be ironed out within the next few weeks.

Now, don’t forget that earlier this year, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe was already announced as a new signing by the club. The SuperSport United man will join Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season.
