After Getting A Brace In Leeds Game Eddie Nketiah Gives His Opinion
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has praised Leeds United on BBC Sport after scoring two goals against Jesse Marsch’s side at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal got the better of Leeds 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
Nketiah, a former Leeds loanee, scored both goals for the Gunners in the first half.
The striker, who is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, has said that Leeds “a good side”, and that they created problems for the Gunners in the second half.
Nketiah told BBC Sport: “We had a few chances in the first half to kill the game but we obviously didn’t take them.
“They are a good side, they are fighting for their lives down there and we knew that they were going to push.
“They troubled us in the second half but (we) showed good resilience to stay with it and get the three points which is most important.”
In our opinion, Leeds could have done much better against Arsenal in the Premier League game on Sunday even though the Gunners were at home and were the favourites.
Illan Meslier’s mistake for the first goal from Nketiah was really poor, and Luke Ayling got sent off for a dangerous challenge that he did not need to have made.
Even winger Raphinha could have been sent off, as noted by MOTD pundits Alan Shearer and Ian Wright.
Leeds are now in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
