Altay Bayindir Set For Man United Medical
- Turkish Goalkeeper Undergoes Man United Medical.
Altay Bayindir has undergone a medical examination with Manchester United ahead of a potential move to the club from Fenerbahce.
United are targeting the Turkey international as an option to provide competition and cover for first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana, with Bayindir understood to be available for a fee in the region of £6m.
Erik ten Hag wants to sign an additional goalkeeper with Dean Henderson expected to leave the Red Devils in search of a first-team role, while fellow goalkeepers Nathan Bishop and David de Gea have also departed this summer.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Manchester United staff have met the goalkeeper in Athens to oversee Bayindir’s medical tests, ahead of the transfer of the 25-year-old to the Premier League.
The 6ft 6in shot-stopper has won five caps for Turkey at international level and has made 145 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahce, where he won the Turkish Cup in 2022/23.
Fenerbahce have already lined up a replacement for the goalkeeper as the club close in on a deal for Dinamo Zagbreb’s Dominik Livaković, who impressed as Croatia reached the 2022 World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.
