Antonio Conte will stay at Tottenham Hotspur for the 2022/23 season, and is eyeing as many as six new signings in an effort to end the club’s trophy drought.
A five-time league winner in Italy and England, Conte was seen as a huge coup for Spurs when he signed in November, but doubts remained about his long term future with the club.
Now though, The Telegraph reports that the Italian has committed himself to the north London side ahead of next season, following productive talks with managing director Fabio Paratici.
The news could also persuade star striker Harry Kane to sign a new deal with the club, a year on from almost joining Manchester City.
Conte wrapped up a return to the Champions League with a 5-0 final day Premier League win over Norwich, boosting the club’s income before further investments were announced.
Owner Joe Lewis who fronts majority shareholders ENIC has invested a further £150million into the side following their top four finish, with the cash expected to be given to Conte to invest.
The 52-year-old is also planning to offload a number of players to finance incomings, with names such as Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon facing the chop.
Early reports claimed Conte had returned to Italy to weigh up his future after the completion of the season, one in which he agitated for a move away.
In February, Spurs followed up a 3-2 win over eventual champions Manchester City with a 1-0 loss to Burnley, which led the Italian to question his future while speaking to talkSPORT.
“I have to speak with the club to talk and find the right solution because, I repeat, it’s not right to continue this way,” he said, but now he looks set to at least see out his 18-month contract.
