Arsenal Interested In Signing Ansu Fati Whiles Tottenham Also In Race

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Barcelona forward Ansu Fati this summer, according to Spanish publication La Vanguardia (page 39).

The Gunners bolstered their attack with Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion last month, but they are likely to pursue another marquee signing for next season.

La Vanguardia claim the club are interested in securing the services of Fati, who has grown frustrated with his limited playing time under manager Xavi Hernandez this term.

The player’s entourage have opened the door for a move away from Camp Nou, and it is claimed that Barcelona could consider the same with the need to balance their books.

Aside from the Gunners, Tottenham Hotspur are mentioned as candidates to land the talented youngster, who has scored or assisted every 125 minutes this season.

Arsenal could make ambitious move for Fati

The Gunners signed Trossard to bolster the left-wing department. The Belgian is set to offer competition to Gabriel Martinelli for the rest of the season.

However, there will be serious questions raised over his future during the summer if the Gunners sign Fati from the Blaugrana.

Fati is one of the highly sought-after youngsters in European football and has the potential to develop into a world-class footballer with the right guidance.

The Spanish penned a new Barcelona deal recently to succeed with the club, but things have gone pear-shaped with him struggling to break into the line-up.

Gavi and Ferran Torres have been preferred on the left wing this term, while Robert Lewandowski is an immovable figure up front when available.

Fati would be a fantastic acquisition for the Gunners. He possesses superb pace, brilliant finishing skills and has impressive distribution qualities.

He can comfortably play on the left wing or up front. Arsenal should have the edge over Spurs in the race to sign him with their exciting project under manager Mikel Arteta.

Barring a shock run of results, they are assured of Champions League football. This could be another boost for the club over their north London rivals.

Fati is currently valued at £44 million by Transfermarkt, but Barcelona are unlikely to sell him for such a figure. We anticipate them holding out for £70-80m.
