Barcelona Hopeful Of Announcing First Two Departures Next Week
It is expected to be a very busy summer transfer window for Barcelona, who will be active in terms of both arrivals and departures as Mateu Alemany and Deco look to improve Xavi Hernandez’s squad ahead of next season.
Barcelona can begin to make moves, having had their viability plan approved by LaLiga, but before new signings can be brought it, players must be sold, and there is a growing confidence that they are closing in on their first sales of the summer.
According to MD, Barcelona are hoping to secure the exits of Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet next week.
Both players spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Lecce and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, and they are not in Xavi’s first team plans.
Umtiti has been linked with another of clubs, including former side Lyon, while Lenglet is close to agreeing a permanent deal to return to Spurs.
Barcelona will be pleased that they are seeing movement on the departure front, but there is still a long way to go, as they hope to be able to register all of their prospective new signings.
