Ousmane Dembele seems to have played his last game for Barcelona as the Frenchman rejected a final contract extension offer
Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele has reportedly rejected a contract extension to stay with the Camp Nou outfit as Premier League club Chelsea prepare to sign him.
The Frenchman, whose deal expires at the end of June, looks set to dump the Catalan giants for a move to the Premier League on a free transfer.
Daily Mail reports that the forward is in negotiations with Chelsea since he seems to have failed to live up to expectations in Catalonia after completing a £120million switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
Disciplinary issues have plagued his progress at the Spanish club despite that he found a way to break into the club’s starting line-up.
Journalist Santi Ovalle said on the Cadena Ser show ‘Que t’hi jugues,’ that the French forward has rejected the last offer made by the Catalan club.
As a result, Barcelona are done with the player and will no longer make an attempt to make him stay when his contract lapses on June 30, Barca Universal reports.
The La Liga outfit reportedly knew Dembele would reject a new deal for a number of weeks – despite even offering him a one-year contract extension with £8.67million release clause.
