Barcelona Will Monitor Four Teenage Wonderkids In Today’s UEFA Youth League Final

Hajduk Split will take on AZ Alkmaar this evening in Geneva, in the final of the UEFA Youth League. It will be a final very few had imaged at the start of the season, as the two underdogs look for the ultimate prize.

AZ Alkmaar, in particular, has been the surprise package of the season, beating clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid. They have cultivated a strong team, chock-full of talented youngsters who have shown immense potential.

In light of Alkmaar and Hajduk Split’s success, Barcelona scouts could attend the game in Geneva this evening, to monitor at least four players, reports Diario SPORT. The players in question are Luka Vuskovic, Wouter Goes, Mexx Meerdink, and Ro-Zangelo Daal.

Vuskovic is a center-back by trade, who has already made eight competitive appearances for Hajduk Split. He has impressed onlookers with his tall frame and defensive prowess – making him one of the most exciting talents in Croatia.

Goes, too, is a center-back who is starting to earn senior minutes at AZ Alkmaar this season. He is still in the early stages of his development and could play a bigger role for the team next season.

As for Meerdink, he has racked up seven goals in UEFA Youth League this season. A striker by trade, the 19-year-old’s ability to sniff goalscoring opportunities served as a key reason behind Alkmaar’s success in the competition.

Barcelona, who are already tracking Vitor Roque this year, are keeping tabs on Meerdink, knowing the young Dutchman has the potential to become a top-class striker.

The final one on the list – Ro-Zangelo Daal – is a left winger by trade, who has shown immense speed and technical prowess out wide. Although he is yet to make his professional breakthrough, he could be an interesting player to monitor, especially with Barcelona considering the sale of Ferran Torres.
