Bayern Munich Ahead Of Man United In Race To Sign Kolo Muani
Manchester United are expected to be in the transfer market for a new striker this summer.
Erik ten Hag knows at this stage that he can’t rely on Anthony Martial to stay fit and Wout Weghorst doesn’t score enough goals. The Dutch striker has managed just two goals since his loan move in January.
On top of that, Cristiano Ronaldo’s form and behaviour was a problem during the first half of the season.
United have been linked with an array of strikers as a result. To name a few: Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.
Trying to sign Kane and Osimhen will mean having to deal with tough negotiators, while Eintracht Frankfurt may have already accepted that they won’t be able to keep Kolo Muani with so many bigger clubs knocking on the door.
However, according to football journalist Christian Falk, it is unlikely that Kolo Muani will be moving to Old Trafford anytime soon as Bayern Munich emerge as favourites to sign the forward.
Falk explained in a piece for CaughtOffside: “Bayern are still looking for a striker and most recently they had scouts and technical director, Marco Neppe, at the Aston Villa game. They won’t be making an offer for Ollie Watkins, however, because they’ve decided to continue to focus on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as a priority as well as seeking clarification on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s intentions.
“Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is no longer a target for the club so Man United will be happy, though the Red Devils have an issue if they want to position themselves alongside the Bavarians for Kolo Muani.”
Meanwhile, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claims he will not sell Osimhen this summer.
So, are we leading to a situation where it’s Kane or nothing?
