Dean Henderson Convinced Transfer Will Happen Despite Delays
Dean Henderson is convinced he will get a permanent switch away from Manchester United this summer.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper is understood to be perplexed by suggestions he could stay at United and fight for the No.1 role under Erik ten Hag.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Henderson is convinced he will join Nottingham Forest before the start of next season.
Samuel Luckhurst reports: “Henderson is believed to have returned from holiday but United’s complex goalkeeper situation could delay his expected departure.”
Henderson spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and he made it clear in an interview with talkSPORT that he had no interest in showing his ability to Ten Hag, who had just arrived as the newly appointed manager at the time.
With Henderson unwilling to compete for a first choice role at United and David de Gea’s future uncertain, I can’t help but feel he burnt his bridges at Old Trafford before moving to the City Ground.
De Gea has now entered the final week of his contract and United are being linked with a number of keepers throughout Europe.
Inter Milan’s Andre Onana seems to be the top target.
