Didier Digard Publicly Declares His Stance On Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Potential Man United Takeover
OGC Nice manager Didier Digard has revealed his belief that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will not waver on their commitment to the French club if they emerge successful in their efforts to complete a majority takeover of Manchester United.
On April 28th, Sir Jim and his main competitor Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani both submitted third and final offers to purchase the club from the Glazers.
The Glazers are expected to name their preferred buyer very soon as the sale of the club enters its final stretch.
Speaking ahead of Nice’s match against Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace this Saturday, Digard backed Sir Jim to come out on top and take over the reins at Old Trafford.
Digard said, “For me, Manchester (United) is something else. I don’t think we’re dependent on it.”
“The boss (Jim Ratcliffe) has made such an investment at Nice that he can get himself the present of Manchester. I’ll be happy for him because we know that it’s something that matters to him.”
“We know that he won’t withdraw from Nice. For us it will change nothing.”
Digard remarked that OGC Nice’s owners are always looking for ways to improve the squad and the club as a whole.
He remarked, “For us, there are issues with Financial Fair Play. We can’t just do whatever we want.”
“The project may be difficult to understand from the outside, but I can guarantee you that internally, people are giving 100% to grow this club.”
For United fans, that the end of the Glazers’ crushing rule is nearing its end is the most positive thing.
Hopefully, new custodians are in place just in time for the transfer window. Erik ten Hag requires massive backing as he seeks to bolster the team ahead of next season.
