Fans of baseball, especially of the Washington Nationals, are curious about their first baseman Dominic Smith’s personal life. Many wonder if the MLB star has a wife, let’s find out!
Dominic Smith, who signed with the Nationals on a one-year $2 million contract in January 2023, is a professional since 2017.
No wonder the stardom from MLB attracted queries on Dominic’s relationship throughout the years. Well, the answer was on the way.
In the 2021 fall, he shared a cozy picture with a girl that sent fans buzzing if she was the baseball player’s girlfriend or wife.
A highly-touted baseball prospect, Dominic Smith was the first-round (11th overall) pick of the Mets in the 2013 MLB draft. That year’s notable draftees included Hunter Dozier, Phil Bickford, Mark Appel & Kris Bryant.
He quickly rose through the Mets’ minor league system ranks, showing impressive hitting skills and earning accolades such as the Florida State League Player of the Year in 2016.
After playing six seasons with the NY Mets, he signed with Washington Nationals as a free agent.
Dominic Smith’s Wife Or Girlfriend?
The American baseball player is not officially married or has a wife.
But Smith is in a relationship with his girlfriend, who is none other than Holly Ciera, an emerging American model.
Dominic Smith made a stir among fans after he shared a picture with a girl on Instagram in September 2021. That lady was later identified as Holly Ciera.
According to ModelMayhem, she is a Los Angeles-based model. On her Facebook profile, Holly proclaims herself as a health coach.
However, the duo is yet to open up about their dating story- when & how their relationship began.
Back in April 2022, according to a Tweet by Deesha Thosar, an MLB writer for Fox Sports, Smith was with his girlfriend on a beach amid his trade rumors with the Padres.
Probably, the MLB player was referring to Holly Ciera as his ‘girlfriend’ then.
Seems the couple is in no hurry to marry anytime soon- rather, they are focusing on their career before settling down.
Family: Parents Struggled With Addiction Before His Birth
Smith was born on June 15, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, to Clay Smith and Yvette LaFleur. He has six siblings.
Growing up, he did not have the privileges and luxuries like other kids.
As reported, both his parents struggled with drugs & got sobered up before Dominic was born. Neither of his parents attended college, so their job prospects were limited.
Even though Smith’s father and mother lived separately, they raised him together & supported him through every aspect of his career.
His father, Clay, works as a dog trainer and groomer, while his mother, Yvette, works in child care.
In his own life and career, Smith has talked publicly about the importance of family. He said they were his most excellent support and motivation, providing the love and encouragement he needed to succeed.
Though he is busy as a pro athlete, Smith continues to spend time with his family, who still play an essential role in his life.
Dominic Smith’s Social Work
In 2017, Smith founded Baseball Generations, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of financially disadvantaged players.
The organization aims to support the players who would only sometimes have access to it such as equipment, training, and coaching.
To give back to his community, Smith founded the organization so that young players can make their dreams come true no matter how financially difficult it is.
Baseball Generations has since been growing and expanding, allowing players from all over the United States to participate.
Smith’s commitment to positively impacting young athletes’ lives and promoting equal access to resources for all players has been demonstrated through his nongovernmental organization.
