DUBOIS WANTS JOSHUA OVER USYK FOR WBA FIGHT.
Daniel Dubois says he wants to fight Anthony Joshua over Oleksandr Usyk when the WBA mandates his Super heavyweight title clash.
As the WBA secondary ruler after his win over Trevor Bryan, Dubois is in line to fight for the actual championship against the winner of Joshua vs. Usyk II, possibly in 2023.
When discussing his win over Bryan in Miami, Dubois picked AJ over Usyk for the opportunity.
“Well, I said by any means necessary before the fight, and we did that,” said Dubois.
“We took the belt home on the plane, and my dad and my sister made a lot of noise out there, along with the team, and it was powerful, and I loved every moment of it.
“The left hook came out of nowhere, that one, I didn’t even know it, and he never saw it, for sure!
“I heard many people say it, and even though I thought it was a foregone conclusion I would win the fight, that fight was very big. It has set up a whole load of other matches down the line that is going to happen.
“This is what we are here for – along with my dad, everyone who has been behind me. This is what I’ve been pushing for. Now it is ahead of me. These big challenges are going to come.
“Oh yeah, I am ready for the winner. Line them up! I am waiting for this moment, I would prefer it to be Joshua, but whoever it is, it is the big league.
“I want to get a few more fights under my belt, with that belt, and defend it to really make my mark and leave a legacy as a champion.
“That’s the fight. This is all business, there is no disrespect to anyone, but I am coming to clean up and take out whoever is in my way.”
DUBOIS VS. WHYTE
Frank Warren then threw the name of Dillian Whyte into the mix. It was a suggestion that found favor with his young heavyweight star.
“That’s the fight. This is all business, there is no disrespect to anyone, but I am coming to clean up and take out whoever is in my way.”
