- Bournemouth set to land Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli.
Premier League side Bournemouth are now set to complete the signing of Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli.
Castrovilli returned to action for Fiorentina last season after having picked up a serious ACL injury but he is now on his way to the Premier League.
Gianluca di Marzio reports that Fiorentina will sell the Italian for €12 million plus bonuses in what is a major surprise in the ongoing transfer window. The move has proceeded quickly, with the midfielder set to fly to England tomorrow ahead of a medical with the Cherries.
This will be Castrovilli’s first move away from Italy, having been part of the squad that won the Euros with the Azzurri back in 2021. Raised in Bari’s youth system, he made his first team debut in 2014 in Serie B. After another season and a half where he alternated between Primavera and Serie B, he moved to Fiorentina.
Initially he was in the Primavera side but was then sent on loan for the next two years to Cremonese. After making 55 appearances and scoring 6 goals for the Lombardian outfit, he earned a place in the first team with the Viola.
