Erik Ten Hag Set To Drop Man United Striker Against Leeds
Wout Weghorst could miss out on a place in the Manchester United XI on Sunday.
Manchester United travel to Leeds this weekend looking to get revenge after Wednesday night’s disappointing 2-2 draw. The Red Devils performed abysmally but managed to comeback from a 2-goal deficit to avoid defeat at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, Wout Weghorst’s starting place is at stake after starting all seven games for Erik ten Hag’s side since completing a loan move from Burnley in January.
The Dutch striker was replaced on the hour mark during the week — only for Marcus Rashford to score a header from Weghorst’s preferred central position minutes later.
It remains to be seen if Anthony Martial will be available for selection but Rashford could start in the middle, with Alejandro Garnacho on the left and Antony or Jadon Sancho on the opposite flank.
Ten Hag may look to switch things around because Weghorst has played a lot of football in recent weeks.
For that reason, I don’t think the striker will be dropped because the manager is unhappy with his performances. The 30-year-old has done well but you would like to see him get more service in the box.
That’s why I think it might be a good idea to switch Antony for Sancho on the right this weekend.
