Fiorentina midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan has announced his international retirement at the age of 29.

The former Inter Milan Academy graduate explained in a heartbreaking letter that he has been discriminated against and treated unfairly by the Ghana Football Association.

In a letter posted on the official website of Fiorentina, Alfred Duncan said his goodbyes to the Black Stars.

The time has come to say goodbye to the national team.

My heart is sad because I wanted to write a piece of history with the Ghanaian national team but they NEVER gave me the chance to prove it.
