Five Barcelona Stars In Danger Of Being Suspended For Osasuna Clash
Barcelona will take on Real Betis later tonight at Spotify Camp Nou in the hope of edging closer towards lifting the La Liga title.
Having fallen to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Rayo Vallecano earlier this week, Xavi Hernandez & co. will be aiming to produce a strong reaction and collect all three points in front of their fans.
Leading up to the game, Barcelona have also received a twin boost as both Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen have received their medical green light and are in the squad to face Los Verdiblancos.
Meanwhile, captain Sergio Busquets is also back in contention after serving out a one-match suspension for accumulation of cards.
Speaking of which, as many as five Barcelona stars are at risk of getting suspended if they pick up a yellow card in tonight’s game against Real Betis.
Indeed, Gavi, Ferran Torres, Franck Kessie, Alejandro Balde and the returning Dembele could all be suspended for the match against Osasuna next Tuesday if they were to be shown a yellow by the referee in tonight’s clash.
Gavi, who is very much expected to start versus Betis, is currently on nine yellow cards, after picking up another in the midweek game at Estadio de Vallecas. Another yellow would see him get suspended for one game for a second time for accumulation of cards.
Meanwhile, Ferran, Kessie, Balde, and Dembele are all on four cards each and in danger of missing the next game if they are booked against Real Betis.
With the team looking to seal the La Liga title triumph at the earliest possible, it is important that Xavi has all his players available for selection. So, the aforementioned quintet will have to be exert some degree of caution in order to avoid being cautioned by the referee.
