The 17 years old Searle has made history after he beat Yaroslav Demin of Russia 6-4 to become the first British winner of the boys’ event.
The Brits are overwhelmed with joy as this win had not been achieved since 1962. Previously this journey was distanced by Stanley Matthews Jr.
Searle played brilliantly while reveling in the energy on a full No. 1 Court, hitting nine aces and 22 wins as he completed the triumph in 1 hour and 24 minutes.
After defeating the top seed in the first round, he won the championship without dropping a set.
Searle expressed that it was a rather extraordinary sensation for him. Furthermore, he mentioned that he had served at a speed of 134mph.
He acknowledged that such opportunities do not arise frequently, so he intended to savor the experience. He described his time on the court that day as truly remarkable.
