“If It Wasn’t Consensual, Its An Abuse Of Power” – Isco Supports Jeeni Hermoso

  • Isco Supports Jenni Hermoso: “If It Wasn’t Consensual, It’s An Abuse Of Power”.

Isco is one of the first male footballers, along with his Real Betis team-mate Borja Iglesias, to give support to Jenni Hermoso and speak out about what took place in the aftermath of the Women’s World Cup final, as reported by AS.

The two Betis players condemned the attitude of the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, after Spain won the Women’s World Cup in Australia. “If it was not consensual, it is an abuse of power. I send all my support to Jenni,” Isco told Telecinco.

The Spanish midfielder also made reference to the situation when Rubiales was next to the Queen and was seen grabbing his crotch area, saying that this incident was not normal either. Borja Iglesias has gained a reputation for his activism in controversies of this type. On this occasion, Iglesias wanted to publicly “encourage and support” Jenni and tell her that “we are with her.”

The precedent set by Isco and Iglesias is a very positive one. Normally, male players stay silent on female issues, but in this instance, the two Spaniards have stepped up and set a good example.
