Inter Milan Prefer To Sell Barcelona Target To Saudi Arabia
Marcelo Brozovic has emerged as a hot prospect for Barcelona in the market lately. With Sergio Busquets joining Inter Miami this summer, the club are desperate to find a replacement for the defensive midfielder.
Barcelona have been linked with moves for Joshua Kimmich, Martin Zubimendi and even Sofyan Amrabat. But all of the options have been ruled out for one reason or the other. This has forced Barça to look for a cost-effective option in the market, with Brozovic emerging as the ideal candidate.
There were talks with Barcelona negotiating a swap deal with Inter Milan involving Franck Kessie. But according to a recent report from Achraf Ben Ayad, Inter Milan prefer to sell Brozovic to Saudi Arabia as it could prove to be a more lucrative deal for the Italians.
Brozovic has been courted by the oil-rich nation, which has already bagged the services of players such as Ruben Neves, N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema this summer. They had also made an effort to sign Lionel Messi.
Nevertheless, Brozovic, valued at €25 million, will not take much time to make a decision on his future. Ben Ayad, though, suggests Barcelona have not given up on their pursuit just yet. They continue to search for ways to incorporate the midfielder’s services ahead of the new season.
However, in light of the club’s ongoing financial crisis, it could prove to be difficult for Barça to come up with a lucrative enough offer for Brozovic.
Kessie is the only real leverage Barcelona have, as they look to woo Inter Milan into offloading the Croatian to Camp Nou. But the Ivorian has no desire to return to Italy this summer.
The coming days, therefore, could prove to be crucial for all parties involved in this transfer saga, including Brozovic as he looks to take the next step in his career.
