Jesse Marche Sacked As Leeds United Manager After His Defeat To Nottingham Forest
Jesse Marsch has been sacked as Leeds United manager after the disastrous defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The American took charge of Leeds in February 2022 and narrowly steered them clear of relegation last season thanks to a final day win over Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium.
Improved performances were expected during the 2022/23 season, with the club having spent big in the summer to strengthen the squad. Leeds forked out over £100m on new signings including Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Georginio Rutter. Those improvements in form, however, haven’t come to fruition.
Leeds accumulated a win percentage of just 29.73% during Marsch’s tenure, and the club now sit just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference – with a -8 goal difference after 20 league games.
The final straw for Leeds’ board proved to be their defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday – the club’s seventh Premier League game without a win.
Depredict understands that Carlos Corberan is the frontrunner for the job at Elland Road, with Victor Orta being a keen admirer of the West Brom manager’s work. Corberan’s West Brom are currently in the play-off places in the Championship.
