JOHN HENRY UNDER CRITICIZE OVER ‘UNACCEPTABLE’ CONTRACT SITUATION OF MOHAMED SALAH
Mohamed Salah is going into the final year of his contract with Liverpool and the Egyptian is yet to renew his deal with the club
The owners of Liverpool Football Club, Fenway Sports Group, have been heavily criticized for the way they are handling Mohamed Salah’s contract situation.
Salah has just one more year left on his deal with the Premier League outfit and there is no sign that the Egyptian will extend his contract with the club.
As things stand, the African superstar will become a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season as the Reds are yet to agree to fresh terms with him
Senegalese star Sadio Mane already dumped the club this summer with a blockbuster move to German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, but there appears no information about Salah’s deal.
“He’s going into the final year of his contract, still hasn’t signed a new deal, you’ve seen Mane leave. Now they recouped their money with Mane – a good bit of business.
“He’d been at the football club, wanted to go in the end for whatever reasons, which will come out but I’m sure it was down to money.
“Now Salah could go on a free – that is unacceptable. Liverpool have set the benchmark for how to do business as a football club and they’ve done it brilliantly. But they’ve got to get this sorted out because Mo Salah cannot leave that football club on a free.”
