Julian Nagelsmann Reach Agreement In Priciple With DFB As New Germany Manager
- DFB reach agreement in principle with Julian Nagelsmann to become new Germany coach.
Bild reports that the DFB and Julian Nagelsmann have reached an agreement in principle for the former Bayern Munich manager to become Germany’s new head coach.
The agreement is that Nagelsmann will be in charge for Euro 2024, which is being held in Germany, and then he will be available once again. The final details of the agreement still need to be qualified but Nagelsmann’s salary is expected to be around €400k a month.
The former Bayern manager has cut short his contract with the club, meaning the DFB will not have to pay any fee for the acquisition of Nagelsmann. Due to his early dismissal, Nageslmann was set to receive €20m until 2026 from Bayern but he has accepted the salary reduction.
The short-term deal for Nagelsmann kicks the can down the road for the DFB as they will once again be looking for another coach to lead them to the World Cup in 2026. It is widely known that the DFB’s goal is to have Jürgen Klopp as the Bundestrainer eventually and the short-term deal for Nagelsmann could suggest that they will try to lure the current Liverpool boss back to Germany next summer.
