- Kopp Confirms ‘Deal greed’ For Moises Caicedo.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a deal for Moises Caicedo has been agreed, with the Brighton midfielder set to undergo a medical on Merseyside following a sensational late bid last night.
The Ecuadorian has been linked with Chelsea all summer and it appeared that both clubs were nearing an agreement worth in the region of £100m.
However, Liverpool trumped Chelsea’s offer with a remarkable £110m deal last evening which Brighton swiftly accepted. Personal terms are also not expected to be an issue.
It’s some statement from Liverpool and for Klopp, who confirmed in his pre-match press conference that a deal has been struck with Brighton.
“First and foremost I’ve been told that the deal is agreed,” he told reporters at the club’s training ground.
“With the player, we will have to see. Let’s see.”
Klopp refused to comment on whether Caicedo will undergo a medical today but the expectation is that the midfielder could feature for Liverpool in Sunday’s highly-anticipated clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
