- Juventus Offer €10m Plus €5m In Variables For Barcelona Midfielder Franck Kessie.
Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is likely to be on his way out in the current summer transfer window to Juventus. With the Catalans in a lurch as far as the Financial Fair Play is considered, the 26-year-old’s sale is seen as a way to generate some revenue and free up space on the wage bill.
And, Juventus have shown a strong interest in signing Kessie from Barça. The Bianconeri are planning to revamp their midfield department almost entirely this season and manager Massimiliano Allegri sees Kessie as a key addition to his squad.
As such, the Serie A heavyweights are pushing hard to secure his signing, preferably on a loan deal with a buy option, although they would be open to a permanent purchase right away.
Over the weekend, reports emerged claiming that an agreement between the two clubs over the transfer might be getting close.
Now, David Bernabeu Reverter of SPORT has provided an update on the negotiations between the two parties.
As per the report, Juventus have offered an initial fee of €10 million plus another €5 million in variables for Kessie. This comes as a response to Barcelona’s demands of a fixed €15 million fee for the midfielder.
More negotiations are expected to take place and the Catalans could be open to accepting a proposal worth around €12 million along with €4-6 million in add-ons to close the deal.
The possibility of Juventus returning with a new offer for the Barcelona star remains on the table. However, at the same time, the option of the Old Lady signing him on loan with a purchase option cannot be ruled out totally either.
So, as things stand, things may be heading in the right direction as far as talks between Barcelona and Juve for Kessie’s transfer are concerned and an agreement might not be very far.
