It remains to be seen if Chiefs will be willing to splash the cash to still secure the services of Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City.
It’s no secret that during this past transfer window, Chiefs were very interested in talented Mduduzi Mdantsane, who has still been widely linked with Amakhosi even after the deal fell through at the last minute.
According to the ThisIsFootball publication, though, Chiefs “are about to take a second bite at the Cape Town City star”, although Chairman John Comitis has suggested that they are planning to offer him a long-term deal – having already triggered the one-year option – unless they receive a big offer at the right price.
The Cape club has no interest in losing such a talented player without it making monetary sense, and a three-year deal at City is likely to be on the table unless Chiefs act fast, and are willing to splash the cash.

City head coach Eric Tinkler recently suggested the club had virtually accepted they would be losing the talented player during the last transfer window, until the deal unexpectedly fell through.
“The little that I know, it was very, very close, it was literally last minute that Kaizer Chiefs opted not to go through with the deal,” Tinkler told Marawa Sports Worldwide.
Yet, there have been whispers that Amakhosi may once again reignite interest in the midfielder, with that sort of recent talk continuing to grow louder and louder.
However, Comitis has also recently said that after opting to exercise the one-year option his contract, they will also look at securing his services in the long-term.
“With Mdu, we’ll sit with him and extend it even longer. We’ll give him a new contract. With us, he’s part of our plans, he’s an asset to the club and we’ll continue with him,” he told Soccer Laduma.
