La Liga Have Not Accepted Barcelona’s Viability Plan, Agreement Seems ‘Nearly Impossible’
Barcelona have been trying to establish an understanding with La Liga in order to find a solution to their Financial Fair Play problem.
As of today, the team continues to struggle to find the balance between their income and expenses, which happens to be very high and as a result, an agreement between the team and La Liga is seeming ‘nearly impossible’, reports Albert Masnou of SPORT.
The outlet claims that there is no agreement between the two parties and La Liga have, in fact, rejected Barcelona’s viability plan that would allow them to sign new players in the summer transfer market.
This development comes after reports over the weekend had suggested that the league could approve the club’s economic viabiliy plan.
All this means before dwelling on their transfer strategy, Barça must reduce their expenses by a minimum of €200 million. There are even talks that the amount is as high as €350 million.
The management is very much aware of the fact that meeting these figures in such a short time is next to impossible and this is why they are trying to negotiate with the league. If everything is on track, the outcome of the negotiation will allow Barcelona to strengthen their squad in the summer.
For now, La Liga is of the idea that Barcelona will find it difficult to meet the deadlines and demands, which is basically why there is no agreement between the team and the league management.
Barcelona have a lot at stake at the moment as this disagreement could prevent them from registering the new contracts of players like Gavi and Ronald Araujo. On top of that, the acquisition of Lionel Messi, Inigo Martinez, and Ilkay Gundogan will be in jeopardy as well.
The lack of ideas to generate income is hurting Barcelona big time. A problem, that began with the COVID-19 outbreak, still has no solution and until today, the disparity between the team and the league remains which will affect the transfer plans.
