As per multiple sources, Mohamed Salah earns a base salary of £200k per week at Liverpool, having signed a 5-year deal with the club back in 2018.
His deal expires in 2023 and Salah and Liverpool have still not come to terms over a new contract, with rumours sparking that he will leave as a free agent next summer.
As per The Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool offered Salah a 15% increase on his current contract. The math then tells us that the Reds offered him a base salary of £230k per week.
In contrast, Virgil van Dijk is reportedly the highest earner at the club after he signed a long-term deal last summer; he earns £220k per week (before bonuses).
It has not been mentioned exactly how much Salah is asking for, with rumoured numbers ranging from £300k to £500k per week. The latter figure seems outlandish and fake but the former is believable.
We also have to mention that Liverpool contracts include a lot of bonuses that get triggered with team titles and individual performances. We have no way of knowing how much Salah (or any other player) earns through these bonuses as they are not disclosed officially.
