Liverpool Interested In Signing Man City Midfielder Kalvin Phillips

Liverpool are reportedly considering a bold approach to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp is finalising plans to rebuild his midfield at Liverpool this summer and is assessing targets as the club consider multiple additions in the engine room.

Phillips has emerged as a potential transfer target for the Reds after a difficult debut season at Manchester City, one which has seen the England international struggle for fitness and favour.

The 27-year-old signed for City in a £45m deal from Leeds last summer, but has started just twice in all competitions and has featured for only 102 minutes in the Premier League.

Phillips has been linked with an exit as he looks to secure regular minutes ahead of Euro 2024 and the Daily Star are reporting that Liverpool are prepared to offer the midfielder an avenue out of the Etihad. Phillips is said to be open to a potential move to Merseyside as Liverpool consider a £35m offer.

Raheem Sterling was the last player to move directly between the clubs after leaving Liverpool for Manchester City in July 2015, with the two teams have been in direct competition for major trophies in recent seasons.

West Ham have also been linked with Phillips as the Hammers brace for the expected exit of Declan Rice from the London Stadium this summer.
