“LOVE AND SUPPORT”: Enzo Fernandez Names Player He Looks Up To
It’s been such a whirlwind of a career for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, and he is still only 22-years old.
It wasn’t long ago where he was trying to come through and make a name for himself in the Argentinian league. And now he has become a World Cup winner and a plus £100m player!
He got his big move in the January transfer window and things are going fast for him. Chelsea battled so hard to try and sign him in the winter and eventually got their man.
He’s become an instant regular starter in the Chelsea team, which was always expected, and now he will want to push on and add to his success from the World Cup and his career so far.
Enzo says there is one player he looks up to and has always been very good to him, offering him love and support, and that is his Argentina team mate Lionel Messi.
“I’ve always said Leo Messi was a player I look up to,” Enzo told the Chelsea website. “I’ve always tried to learn from him. He’s a great person and has given me love and support within the team. I also had to face him when I played for Benfica in the Champions League, as he played for PSG. Right after that, we became team-mates in the Argentina squad.
“He’s a great person. Very humble, hard-working. He deserves everything he’s achieved in football.”
