Luka Modric Extend Contract With Real Madrid
- Croatian star extend deal with the 14-time Champions League record holder.
Real Madrid have retained the midfield talents of Luka Modrić after the player signed a new contract.
The 37-year-old has opted to stay in the Spanish capital until 2024 after reportedly rejecting an offer of €80m per season from Al-Ahli.
It means Carlo Ancelotti can rely on the Croatian’s leadership alongside Toni Kroos for an extra season.
It also allows the arrival of Jude Bellingham (19) and resigning of Braim Diaz (23) to learn from the experienced Ballon d’Or winner.
The club continues its midfield revolution with Eduardo Camavinga (20) and Aurélien Tchouaméni (23) also in the squad.
Modrić has been a pivotal part of Madrid’s success in recent years, notably forming a core partnership with Kroos and former team-mate Casemiro during the club’s Champions League reign.
The renewal means he is set to crack 500 appearances with the club and has 37 goals and 77 assists to date.
